We are delighted to have been awarded the contract for substantial extensions and alterations at Herbalshaw Meadow Barn, located in the picturesque village of Weston Underwood, Ashbourne, Derbyshire.
Nestled in a peaceful valley with breathtaking countryside views, Herbalshaw is a charming property set in just under six acres of semi-rural landscape. The main house and gardens occupy half an acre, with a spacious driveway accessible via a private road. It is a stunning location—a real hidden gem.
Following a rigorous tender process, we have been selected to undertake significant alterations and extensions to this beautiful property. The works, which were granted planning permission in May 2024 by Amber Valley Borough Council, will include:
- A single-storey extension to enhance the living space.
- The installation of a Juliette balcony on the west elevation to maximise views of the surrounding countryside.
- A new porch on the north elevation to create a welcoming entrance.
- The addition of two rooflights on the east elevation to bring in more natural light.
- A single-storey extension to seamlessly join the detached store to the main dwelling, improving functionality and flow.
Designed by Matthew Montague Architects—who will be collaborating with us on site—this project seamlessly blends modern enhancements with respect for the property’s character and surroundings.
