Allsopp Construction is thrilled to welcome Alstom, a global leader in rail transport, to its portfolio of clients. Following Alstom’s acquisition of Bombardier Transportation in 2021, the company has reinforced its presence in Derby, continuing to drive innovation in rail technology.
Historically, both Bombardier and Alstom have worked with the same contractor for many years. However, due to the retirement of that contractor, an opportunity arose to work with a new partner, and we are delighted to have been selected for this office alteration project at Alstom’s Barton site.
The project involved transforming a large meeting space into two partitioned rooms. As part of the renovation, we removed a wall and supplied and fitted an 8-meter-long by 2.4-meter-high sliding, folding acoustic door, allowing the space to be opened or closed as needed. We also made adjustments to the ceilings and doors to align with the new room layout, including modifying the suspended ceilings. The entire space was decorated and made good, ensuring a polished finish.
We completed the project within the two-week time frame, coming in on time and on budget. Although this was not a large-scale job, we are delighted to have been chosen for it and hope this marks the beginning of a long-term partnership with Alstom.
Additionally, we collaborated with Alan Benfield Electrical Contractors, with whom we have enjoyed a working relationship for many years.
