Works are underway on the Construction of two architect designed contemporary dwellings in the village of Breedon on the Hill in North West Leicestershire.

Designed by Derby based Matthew Montague Architects, the project received planning permission from North West Leicestershire District Council in August 2023. The development involves replacing two agricultural Dutch barns on an existing brownfield site with two ultra-modern, four-bedroom homes.

The new homes are being constructed using local materials, including Ibstock facing bricks, natural stone and concrete panels, complemented by large expanses of glazing. Plot 1 will feature a 925m² four bedroom house, while Plot 2 will cover 760m², also with four bedrooms.

The build is complex, there is huge steel works that are needed to support the large glass expanses. Contracts Manager Shaun Kellow is overseeing the construction for a private client, managing the intricate details that a complex build requires.

Currently, Plot 1 has progressed to the damp proof course (DPC) level, and Plot 2 has reached the foundation level and the steels are starting to go in Plot 1.
