Cloud Lodge, situated in Mapleton near Ashbourne, is the site of a major renovation project for a private client. This bungalow, which commands stunning views over the picturesque Okeover Estate, is being transformed into a contemporary living space.
We have been on-site since November 2024, making steady progress. Works so far:
- Foundation Work: The resin-injected pile foundations have been completed. This
modern technique ensures robust structural support for the new design. - Internal Works: The ceilings and all associated M&E (mechanical and
electrical systems) have been stripped out, clearing the way for the next
phase. - Structural Preparation: All padstones have been positioned, ready to support the
first-floor steel frame. - External Works: Scaffolding has been erected, allowing safe and efficient
access for ongoing and future construction stages.
The majority of the work to date has been internal, enabling us to continue progress despite recent poor weather and storms. Looking ahead, we are preparing to remove the roof early in the new year, fingers crossed for
a mild January.
The project involves creating a brand-new top floor, which will include:
- A luxurious master bedroom with an en-suite.
- A state-of-the-art cinema room for ultimate relaxation.
- A contemporary gable with a viewing gallery, providing breathtaking
views of the surrounding countryside.
This 8-9 month project is expected to be completed by June 2025.
