Project Overview
238 Station Road is a detached new-build property in Rolleston on Dove, Staffordshire. The house features 5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, and sits on a corner plot. It includes a separate oak-framed garage with additional living space above, suitable for use as a bedroom or office.
Site and Construction
Following demolition of the original property, a substantial new house was constructed. The sloping corner plot required extensive groundworks, including cutting into the bank to create a suitable building platform. The finished garden features several patios and raised patios, hard landscaping and planted areas, all completed by Allsopp Construction.
Design and Features
The property is constructed using traditional block and brick cavity walls, finished with stone-effect grey cladding and Siberian larch timber cladding. Premium Velfac windows and doors are installed throughout, featuring slim sightlines and high energy efficiency ratings. The front elevation showcases two large glazed gables.
The house comprises 4 double bedrooms, including a master bedroom with en-suite featuring a standalone bath. The family bathroom is generously sized, and there is an additional Jack and Jill bathroom. Interior features include a mezzanine floor with an internal balcony, finished with frameless glass balustrading.
An oak-framed garage, also built by Allsopp Construction, includes a versatile room above suitable for a bedroom or office. A semi-glazed link connects the garage to the main house.
Sustainability and Modern Living:
The property incorporates contemporary living features while maintaining traditional building methods. The high-specification Velfac windows contribute to the building’s thermal efficiency.
