We have purchased our first electric van.
2026 is shaping up to be a busy year for us and, with our 18-month restoration project at The Almshouses on London Road in Derby now underway, it felt like the right time to expand the fleet. The new van will be used primarily by Steve Woodisse as part of the day-to-day operations on site.
We have taken delivery of a Kia PV5, one of the latest electric vans to arrive on UK roads following its release in 2025.
The van is fully liveried and now in daily use. So far, we are really pleased with it. With a healthy range of 280 miles, it is well suited for regular site visits and day-to-day travel, while features such as heated seats, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto make it a most welcome, comfortable addition to the fleet.
While capability and value were key considerations, the move also reflects a broader shift in approach. In time we’d like to part-exchange some of the older vans in the fleet for new electric ones. This forms part of our long-term strategy rather than an immediate transition.
